A small Rhode Island team, a tightly edited catalog.
Al Jarash Distribution LLC was founded in 2019 by Margaret Lynch, a former independent-beauty buyer who spent nearly a decade on the wrong side of a phone that nobody picked up. We exist so that small retailers, spas, salons, and hospitality programs can carry the lines they love without fighting their distributor for it.
How we got here.
Margaret opened the first bay off East Main Road in October 2019 with three brands, one folding table, and a UPS account. The first account was a single-chair barbershop in Newport. The second was a day spa in Tiverton. The third was a hotel concierge who needed seven hundred amenity bottles by Friday.
We figured out the rest as we went. Five years later, we work with more than four hundred independent accounts across the Northeast, mid-Atlantic, and increasingly the upper Midwest. We've moved twice. We've added a real shipping bay, a small showroom, and a team of seven. We still hand-pack every order under a hundred pounds.
What we believe.
- Small catalogs win. We'd rather carry one hundred and twenty lines we'd actually merchandise than a thousand we couldn't defend.
- Honest dates. If a brand is on backorder, we say so on the phone the same day. We do not invent ship dates to keep an order on the books.
- No exclusivity clauses. You are free to leave whenever you'd like. Most accounts don't, but it's the principle.
- A real human answers. Every account gets a named rep. Margaret still works the sales line on Wednesdays.

Margaret Lynch, Founder & President
Margaret began her career as an assistant buyer at a Boston department-store group, then spent six years as the head beauty buyer for a small chain of independents in southeastern New England. She holds a B.A. from Providence College and lives in Portsmouth with her husband and two daughters. When she's not on the floor she's on the water — Narragansett Bay, mostly, in a borrowed sailboat.
