A note from the founder
We started in a single bay on Gilham Street.
I spent eight years on the buying side of independent beauty before opening Al Jarash in the fall of 2019. The category had quietly outgrown its old distribution — indie founders were doing the most interesting work, but small retailers couldn't get consistent fills, honest minimums, or anyone who'd actually answer the phone. So we built the kind of supplier we wished we had.
Five years on, we're still a small team in Fox Chase, North Philadelphia. We hand-pick every line we carry. We write our own ship dates. And we still answer the phone.
